Fishing In USA

Fishing as a sport and recreational activity is very popular in the United States. It has been a traditional hobby of the Americans as well as tourists in the USA. The Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, including the many streams of water across the country offer greater opportunities for Salt water fishing. United States of America has many rivers, lakes and inland streams for fresh water adventures.
Fishing in the U.S.A. is very diverse because of the fish migrating every season. The weather, however, is one factor that restrains people from fishing. Rain, fog, snow, and wind affect the fishermen since these conditions may sometimes be dangerous to them.
Since the fish are diverse, fishermen have a lot of fishing techniques depending on the type of fish they are targeting. They can do surf fishing, fly fishing, bait casting, pier fishing and many other techniques.
Florida for example, is one state that has long been famous for fishing. Everywhere in Florida you see a lot of men and women of different ages getting excited about fishing. You see them holding fishing lines in bridges, causeways, riverbanks and piers. Also, Charter fishing boats are popular in all coasts of Florida.
Florida is known for its saltwater fishing and fly fishing. You need to be versatile to get the most out of Florida’s fly fishing adventures. Fly fishing and saltwater fishing are your choices depending on the time of the year.
There are abundant Redfish in Daytona Beach, Titusville and St. John’s River. Spotted Sea Trout are also found in Florida. You can find a local guide in the area and they will be able to help you enjoy your fishing experience.
Florida has been a hot place for fishing especially during the start of October. There are large numbers of Redfish until mid morning. There are a lot of Snooks being caught. During the afternoon when the temperature is high, there are a large numbers of jacks, ladyfish and trout that keep the fishermen in action.
Americans and tourists have a variety of reason why they fish in the U.S.A. Some love to see the sunrise and sunset in the water. Besides fishing, some love to watch dolphins, whales and birds. But still it is the catching of fish that really thrill them. Fishing in the U.S.A is a meaningful pastime whether in groups or all alone. The money you will spend is worth the fun and excitement including building relationships.

fishing???????????????
I have a question about fishing. Im 17 and im about to buy my first fishing pole but I want to go cheap maybe around 20-30 bucks. What size is appropriate for my age? And do you recommend a specific brand that cheap prices and good quality? I plan to go to walmart to buy my fishing rod, so would it be better to buy a rod/reel combo, or buy the rod and reels separately?
okay what you need for good quality is a Shakespeare brand. ugly stick poles are great for fishing if i were u i would go a little more to about 40 dollars so u know it will last and u no it wont snap on u when u have a big one. good luck

Shakespeare and ugly sticks are great and cheap.

Get a Zebco 33 combo. Shakespear and ugly stik are good too, but the Zebco is the most reliable. Probably cheapest, too. I got one on sale for $19. Use the other $10 to get a tackle box.

The Zebco 33 combo is by far the best combo for less them 30.

I agree with A. But I would also suggest a one piece rod. I think if the rod is in two piece it will reduce the feel when you get a hit.
Quality gear is almost always a plus. Spend a little more and you won’t regret it in the long run.

The Zebco 33 Combo will be the best ~ http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_101075____SearchResults It is on sale at Wal-Mart right now for $19. How do i know? Because my dad had to replace his old rod and reel that got pulled in with the 33. It’s a good combo. I own the reel myself. I caught a channel cat on it two days ago and it did good. I have also caught Largemouth bass and bluegill with the same reel. No, buying a combo will give you more bang for your buck. Reliable companies that are cheap are either ZEBCO or Shakespeare.
Any more questions ?

The Zebco 33 combo is good. I grew up in Iowa fishing there, IL, and Minn with a 33. I caught a 5 1/2 pound Northern Pike on the 33.I was using about a 6 pound test mono line. The combo at Walmart is for light to medium casting and comes with ten pound test mono line. You can land bigger fish but have to be careful and wear them out. A landing net is best for big fish to get them when you have them near shore.

It is usually cheaper to buy a combo unless there is only one piece ( only rod or reel) on sale, at Wal-Mart there is a Abu Garcia, the combo is only $60 but the reel alone is $53 so you get the pole for only $7 when you buy the combo, for your age you should get a bait-casting combo, they are a little tricky to learn how to use at first but after a while you will get the hang of it.

as an avid fisherman, i would say deffinantly buy a 6-7 foot shakespere brand fishing rod, i prefer ugly strick. buy the rod and reel combo and you could end up paying 40-60 dollars depending on the durability of the rod. if your are fishing bass in pound range of 1-4 i would say buy a medium/ medium heavy, above that try to buy a heavy rod, which are a bit pricey. but for fishing line buy Fire line, it is a very strong braded line the is around 24 dollars, but its worth it. triline is another leading brande and their 4 pound test line is as thick as fire line’s 14 pound test and the thinner the better so if you can, pick up fire line also. Happy Fishing!

You can buy a decent rod and reel at anywhere not just at WalMart, a little bit better brand is Shimano and you can get a better deal on a Shimano rod and reel combo at a sporting goods store like Dick’s

it all depends really
freshwater-you want a rather smaller pole thats very sensitive, (i would recomened the shakespear line)
saltwater-your looking for alittle bit stronger of a pole that can take some abuse, (i would look toward shimano or shakespear)
*try to stay away from those REALLY cheap poles that are like 8 bucks becasue i hear they dont last very long
